Moisture meters: customized calibrations
Customising moisture meters for specific solid biomasses and matters.
In addition to standard calibrations, customised calibrations can be created for some moisture meters. For specific matters, solid biomasses or mixed biomasses, the calibration of the moisture meter with the biomass/matter to be measured allows having an accurate and direct measure for this biomass. The measurement is thus optimized. This service takes place in two phases.
Calibration using the oven drying methodLike standard calibrations set up in Humitest moisture meters, the creation of a new calibration of biomass provided by the client is achieved through oven drying at 105°C. The client specifies the range of measure he wants and provides a sample for which the wet water content is the highest point on the curve to create.
After receiving the client's sample, the calibration is created as follows:
- oven drying according to specific protocol,
- collection of data (mass, voltage and corresponding water content),
- creation of a calibration curve from these data.
Integration of the calibration curve in the moisture meter
Set up of the calibration curveThe new calibration curve is set up in the moisture meter and the new selection of biomass appears in the selection menu with the name chosen by the client. After checking proper functioning and issuing a calibration certificate (optional), the moisture meter is despatched to the client.

If a biomass moisture meter is not set for a specific biomass, a calibration curve can be ordered with some Humitest biomass moisture testers.
Secale multicaule, peanuts, kidney beans, white pepper, mung beans, peppercorns and shredded olive pits, these calibrations can be ordered for the Humitest for grain 300, 300 plus and food industry.
If the calibration curve does not exist, a laboratory analysis allows to create it.
